Triking Alaska's
Our Latest Book in

December 2023December 2023 December arrived before we knew it and we are heading towards the finish line. The harvest is almost over and our deliveries have slowed to a crawl, as just a few of the bigger growers finish up. And now we are starting to outload Barley from two years ago, and it will continue into this years as well, though we will not be doing all of that. And the continual cleaning continues as well. The slower pace has allowed us to take a day off to take our fridge to our trusted aircon/refrigeration man in Narrogin and it will be with him until it is fixed. Having replaced the control box it is still not running properly, so it might be time for a new compressor, but we will see. In the meantime we are about to start earlier each day at 5.30am and will finish sometime around 6pm. Good for the pocket and a good job it is towards the end.
The Office. We finished work on the Friday before Christmas and after finishing at lunchtime we made our way to Narrogin to pick the fridge up. Unfortunately getting it back in the van proved a little disastrous and we kinked a copper pipe which had to be replaced, and by the time we did all that and got it gassed again, it was late, and hot, so Joanne booked us into the caravan park for the night. Next morning saw Grant from airresponse visit us again to check the fridge, top up the gas and replace a fan relay that had died, and we were on our way to family for Christmas. So with work over it is time to take stock of what has been done, do a little cleaning and maintenance, catch up with some people and decided what we want to do between now and taking the overnight ferry to Tasmania in February 24. Stay tunes for that one! ...
Mark Twain once said "...years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do that by the things you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - and so we will. |
